Makita Saws - Get The Right One For The Job
Looking into picking up some Makita Saws? Makita is a well known company, one that has produced many power tools that you can find on any job site. When it comes to saws, Makita saws are definitely at the top of the heap.
There are many different types of Makita saws though, you can get a circular saw, reciprocating saw or a table saw for instance, it’s all dependant upon what you need to do the job you have to do. To help you make a decision on each one of those types of saws, I’ll be providing you with reviews on the best models, so you’ll know what to go after:
1. Makita 5007MG Magnesium 7-1/4” Circular Saw
Here’s a saw that can quickly go form 0 to 45 degrees and back via positive stops which are connected to levers. The 15 AMP motor in here yields 5,800 RPM which works great with this light weight and balanced saw.
This is an improvement over previous models in many ways, it is more ergonomical, the levers are now rubber coated rather than being hard plastic knobs, the magnesium base is more sturdy than the previous aluminum one and the blade guard is remade and doesn’t bind on 2x material.
This is heads and shoulders above it’s competition from Milwaukee, DeWalt and Porter-cable, you can get it for $122.49.
2. Makita JR3070CT Reciprocating Saw
At 15 Amps this is one of the most powerful reciprocating saws you’ll find out there. This saw despite it’s power doesn’t jerk in your hands, it holds steady and purrs. Changing a blade is also quite easy here and is a 1 handed operation. This has some great anti-vibration technology as well. Compared to the Sawzall 13 AMP and Hitachi 12 AMP, this one takes the cake.
One thing though is that the saw can get really hot after prolonged use. If you want to pick this up, it will cost you $182.25.
3. Makita 2703 15 Amp 10-Inch Benchtop Table Saw
Now out of all the Makita saws, this is probably the one you would get the most use out of, especially if you have enough jigs to use on it. This is a 10” table saw that has a 27x22” table, a cam locking rip fence and electric brake. It has a 15 amp motor that allows for 3-9/16” cut capacity and has rack and pinion with bevel adjust ability.
This is a solid choice for the jobsite and is great for sawing through lumber. It’s pretty light as well considering it’s a portable table saw. This one will cost you $380.14 if you decide to get it.
Now there are other Makita saws that you may want to get, but these are some of the best that are out on the market right now.
